Swarm Collection Box
For moving a honeybee swarm to a beekeeper instead of killing it.

A honeybee swarm in your garden is not an infestation. It is a colony between homes, it is usually docile because it has no stores to defend, and your local beekeeping association will very often come and collect it for free. This is the box they use: ventilated ply, a sealable entrance, and straps so it travels without crushing bees.

Using it properly
- Call a beekeeper before you do anything — most collect free
- Swarms usually move on within 48 hours by themselves
- Never spray or burn a honeybee swarm
- If it is in a wall cavity it is a colony, not a swarm: call a professional
Before you use any of this on a nest: read
when to call a professional. Protective equipment reduces risk. It
does not remove it, and it is no help at all to someone with a sting allergy.
