Stainless Bee Smoker
For beekeepers working their own hives. Smoke calms honeybees; it does not work on wasps.

Smoke interrupts honeybee alarm pheromone, which is why it settles a hive. It does very little to a wasp colony, and we would rather say that plainly than sell you one for a job it will not do. Stainless body, heat shield, and a bellows that will outlast the cheap ones by years.
Specification
| Body | Stainless steel, 10cm diameter |
|---|---|
| Heat shield | Full-height, riveted |
| Bellows | Leather, replaceable |
| Hook | Integrated hive hanger |
| Fuel | Not included; pine needles or hessian work |
Using it properly
- Two or three puffs at the entrance, then wait a minute
- Cool smoke only — if it is hot at the spout, add more fuel
- Never aim a smoker at a wasp nest; it provokes rather than calms
- Extinguish fully and store cold
Before you use any of this on a nest: read
when to call a professional. Protective equipment reduces risk. It
does not remove it, and it is no help at all to someone with a sting allergy.
